The Koniag Education Foundation (KEF) was established in 1993
and is a non-profit educational foundation. KEF provides scholarships and
grants to Koniag, Inc. shareholders and their descendants who are
seeking education after high school
KEF exists to promote education within the Koniag Region as well
as to our shareholders and descendants who live throughout the
U.S. and beyond. Our goal
is to help shareholders and descendants achieve their potential
through education, whether these classes are for a college degree,
to excel at your current job, or to equip you in looking for a new
job.
Our scholarships may be used for registration, tuition, books,
room, or other reasonable expenses in conjunction with
post-secondary education. At the end of each term, recipients
must send transcripts or progress reports to the Foundation to
be mailed second term checks.Beyond funding applicants for
college, vocational school or certifications, we are committed
to encouraging the people of our region to realize the
opportunities available to them through education and help
them to achieve their goals through community support,
involvement, and encouragement. If you are interested in
taking a class in beading to make headdresses, or CDL and
six-pac licensing, or a doctorate at Harvard University. We
are here to help.
