…gives hope and opportunity to Alaska Natives of the Kodiak Island area, thereby encouraging the communities in which they live. By partnering with KEF, you are creating employment opportunities and encouraging hope in the Alutiiq people.
- Individuals can partner with KEF by donating through KEF’s paypal link below or by sending donations to our office
- Corporations may partner with KEF to provide internships and namesake scholarships awarded to students who meet your funding requirements: field of study, GPA, etc. Namesake scholarships are designed to focus on a donor company’s area of industry so students who graduate with funds from a corporate partner are ready to begin employment in that field.
An example of a corporate partner is ExxonMobil. ExxonMobil funds this $10,000 scholarship for students who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and are studying in fields related to the oil and gas industry, such as mathematics and science. For more information about this scholarship click here.
An example of estate-planning is the Magnel Larsen Drabek Fund. Magnel’s son, Roger McCracken, decided that he would like to begin a fund that would honor the memory of his mother and her dedication to the people of the Island of Kodiak. Once he began donating to the fund, others in his family joined him and began a legacy that keeps Maggie’s memory alive today! Some members of the family have even determined that they would like to donate to the fund through their estate planning.
