Alicia is a family medicine resident physician at Ventura County Medical Center in California. After residency she hopes to practice full spectrum family medicine internationally or with underserved communities in the US. She was blessed to receive support from the Koniag Education Foundation while she earned her Doctorate of Medicine and Master’s of Public Health from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston in 2012.
Alicia is originally from the Pacific Northwest. Her Alutiiq heritage stems from her grandmother, Selma, who was born and raised on Kodiak Island. Her father, M. Brent Parsons, has been involved with Koniag since before she was born and has served on the board since 2005. Although Alicia has never lived on Kodiak, she loves its physical and cultural beauty through visits and family stories. She also loves connecting with and supporting KEF students on their academic journey, toward the health related fields or elsewhere.
